Normally used to connect two duplex fiber optic cables with LC (male) connectors to another two duplex LC (male) fiber optic cables, or four simplex LC (male) cables to another four simplex LC (male) cables. The shutter is designed to prevent ingress of dust and to prevent accidental exposure to laser.
